Aegis are usually worn on the back or shoulder and usually will dangle off like a cloak with energy flowing between the 6 legs. it can be removed to let move around freely, and in this mode act as a more complex Skuttle Bot.

Because the Aegis is meant to be its own bot and a shield generator. This machine is very customization.  its Base cost is always 800Cr With 1 Shield and 1 Defense and Shield 2. But these can be upgraded by Using the "Armor Cost Calc" table in the Corerulebook, or by replacing the shield generator inside it. All Shield Generators have Shield 2 when place in an aegis. This can be increased by spending 1000Cr

Making one yourself only cost the price of 1 Shield generator,  pAI, 400Cr for the Aegis Rig. So its a bit cheaper, and you can choose what shields it starts with.

Aegis: A 6 Legged Robot that offers shielding and Utility, working as both a Skuttle bot and a Shield Generator. When worn on the user it offers Soak,Defense based on the shield module it has equipped, and always offers Shield 2. When not worn it acts as a Skuttle bot that can hold a bulk of 6 with its health being based on the Shield Generator used.

Because the Aegis is meant to be its own bot and a shield generator. This machine is very customization. its Base cost is always 800Cr With 1 Shield and 1 Defense and Shield 2. The Shield generator it uses can be replaced, or you can spend CR to directly upgrade either the Soak, Defense or Shield property. The Cost for Soak and Shield can be found in the core rulebook on Page 198 under the table 'Armor Cost Calculations'. Upgrading the Shield Property cost 1000Cr * Level. So shield 3 will cost 3000cr,

A Character can make one themselves for a cheaper price. But it will require a hard Crafting check or 8 hours of work. The cost is based on the Shield Generator used + a pAI card + 400Cr for an Aegis Rig.

Skuttle bots have a slot for a pAI card, allowing you to extend the range past Long. Though you will lose visual past Long Range, and coms past Extreme.

Personal Artificial Intelligence

A personal Artificial Intelligence  or “pAI” is an AI that is contained on a small card like object. This card can be inserted into Skuttle bots, sprites, or drones to let the AI control them directly, or be inserted into a user’s PAD to control them safely from the PAD. While inside the PAD the pAI can also act as a simple net runner. Looking up information on the infosphere or hacking into simple electronic locks. This AI can be controlled by either the player or the DM
