A group of Humanoid rats that have a light psychic theme. Who after many generations of being exposed to a special tree that grows on their planet, slowly became a hivemind under the tree’s control.

Due to the tree’s influence, Paziki have gained a very weak psychic power, generally presenting as a way for a Paziki to weakly connect with different people. This generally isn’t useful, and in most cases is a detriment. It gives the Paziki a sense that they’re other living creatures nearby, but only vaguely. With some practice it can be enhanced and used for different tricks.

Culture

Paziki’s generally don’t have much in the way of culture, the Trees that ran the hivemind didn’t need art, but wizard, warriors, builders, farmers. Because of this many Paziki struggle to understand art.

In terms of religion, it has been co-opted by their hivemind leader. Though originally a pantheon of different gods, the 3 Major Jini (The Psychic trees) took the name of 3 gods from this pantheon.

Sūn was the God of Many Hands, their appearance was of a Paziki with multiple arms wielding weapons and salves;  The God of The Warrior

Rïn God of A Long Day; Their appearance was a normal Paziki, with the only thing denoting who they were being a strange fur pattern very similar to Tiger stripes. God of the average worker. The lifeblood of Paziki culture.

Væn ( God of Changing Views; A God with no set appearance, was the god who pushed for, and created, change. The God of The Magus.

Before the Jini, each god was said to have an avatar that took on aspects of themselves.

Sūn’s avatars were said to be always jumping between combat and helping.

Rïn’s was said to always be found pushing for large projects to be completed.

Væn’s was said to be one pushing for majors changes or new ideas within the population.

Jini

On the Paziki’s planet of Klina, the Jini are a species of sentient trees. Generally not dangerous, but their sap helps them form psychic connects with anything that drinks it. At first the Paziki avoided the Jini, as the culture at the time taught they were created by a rather rude god. A cult formed around these trees, and after many years of cult activities. This cult of Jini slowly caused more Paziki to connect with the trees.

After a few generations, Paziki were beginning to be born  that didn’t need to ingest the sap to form a connect. A metaphorical hole was made in their mind,  which the Jini abused.

There are many different Jini, each with their own cluster of Paziki they control.

Names

Paziki names now have two parts, a first name that acts as an identifier, then a last name that is cut further into two parts. The First part denotes their job, so a Nel is a courier or someone who works on logistics. Gibs are generally magus, Lons are warriors, and so on. The second part of the name denotes the Jini they are apart of, so Sun, Rïn or Væn.

Example Names:

Lynel Gibsūn

Sulka Nelsūn

Divel Lonvæn

Psychic

All Paziki at some level are Psychic, though this was brought about by exposure to the Jini. This weak psychic power comes in the form of being able to roughly connect with nearby living things. To a Paziki this gives them at best a general vibe that someone is around, but unless a Paziki goes out of their way to master this, they can only ever get a vague vibe.

This same ability has caused many Paziki to develop Monophobia, all Paziki have a sense of unease when alone, but some begin to panic.
